This is a story about a young student at a Seminary. As good seminary students will do, he pondered about religious matters. He stumbled up on the problem of evil.
Why, if G-d is all powerful and all good, does G-d not put a stop to all evil in the world?
As good theology scholars do, he prayed to G-d for understanding. He was not demanding a justification for the Divine plan. He just wanted to know, to comprehend why G-d does nothing about evil in the world. In his prayer, he sought guidance and illumination on this issue.
G-d came to him, through an agent, in his dream. G-d replied. "You want to know what I do about evil in the world. You want to understand my actions. You wish to be guided. I have done something about addressing evil in the world. I sent you. Get busy!"
We forget that we are not here to ask G-d to bail us out. We are present to make life better for others through what we do.
